Jk & Karen Wedding dinner at Pan Pacific

Today is Daddy's birthday; and also the start of husband and wife life for Jingkun and Karen (apps friend).
So we prep to head off to Pan Pacific for the wedding dinner :)

They started off with solemnisation  (which we missed), and cocktail session before entering the ballroom for dinner and the normal ritual of walk-ins and videos.
As now it should be quite a time for me to keep a lookout on how different people hold their weddings, there's quite a few comments going through my mind as I observe. Hahaha.

Props Before the Wedding Dinner
They had the cocktail session and photo booth stations with props and instant print outs. I didn't get to take with apps though ):

Dishes at Pan Pacific
Pan Pacific fish maw soup wasn't quite up to standard,  and I hated how the waiter just kept wanting to clearing the dishes fast which pisses me off cause I wouldn't know if I wanted some more when I hadn't cleared my own plate.
I quite like the suckling pig skin and the prawn though :)

Dinner Events
They played most of the fairytale songs (which I totally love!) But I just dislike the idea of playing it in acoustic way. I'd prefer the original classical ones hahaha. The acoustic quite noisy though, IMO.
On top of that, they had a part when Jingkun sang and played the instrument on his own, which awed me for his courage. :) Thumbs up on that :)

Outfit for that Day

Thanks to Esther who lent me this lovely dress. :)
Who says short people can't wear long gown? Paired up with a pair of heels and tadah!
Tested and proven! :D

Soooo this is how a wedding is held at Pan Pacific.
What, Who, When and Where's next? :)

Thanks for poppin' by my blog to read! :)

The Start of October 2014

I'm excited and I TOADILY look forward to the start of next month!

1) Back to Work!

Credits: invisiblebread

Yes, I will be going back to work and the things that I am looking forward to are:
- Having the small chats with D, Y, N, R and some other amazing people who cheer me up at work.
- Loads of stuff to do that would keep my mind off some things! (Time actually passes very fast like that hahaha)

BUT.. Of course, there are also the cons of it such as:
- Gotta get up early and not sleep till shiok then get up.
- Can't have my own free time to do what I like at any point of time.
- Having to face some annoying people who just turns your day off.

Nevertheless, I still wanna go back cause I feel like as though my life has some productivity in it! LOL.
I can't lie in bed the whole day doing nothing. YES, although at times it is nice to be able to do so, especially when you have worn yourself out for days. But still, I feel like I lack of aim in life.

 2) Treehouse Villa @ Changi!!

Apple has booked the treehouse for us!! **smiles!**
We have been looking forward to it ever since the day he drove me past that villa and told me about it.
Only SAF Personnels are allowed to book the chalets. They ARE NOT opened to public.
It is kinda a place to get out of your work life that is affordable, yet still be in SG.

Yes, there may be other places like The Aloha; and Costa Sands Resorts. Or maybe staycations in the Hotels in SG.
But as a typical Singaporean, we look for the cheaper alternative.
I would LOVE to stay in a hotel for a night or two but looking at its cost, I always question myself back if it was worth it.
Probably I'd only wanna do it on special occasions like celebrating Father's Day for my Super-Mommy at The Marina Bay Sands few years back. But it's all thanks to one of my girlf that I manage to get it at a cheaper rate.
I still LOVE LOVE its Gorgeous Skypark swimming pool by the way!

2 more weeks and HERE I COME TREEHOUSE!

3) Back to Classes!

Credits: usyoga

Yay! I can be officially back to yoga classes and pole-ing!
I  MISS those girls at dance class!
I MISS using the sauna at the Fitness Centre!
I MISS doing warm ups - I feel so lazy and weak now! ):
But of course, subject to my ability. I promise not to go beyond my capacity else Apple will definitely get mad at me!

In any case, I hope October will be a GOOD start for me! :D

Oh Gosh, it means I am only left with 2 weeks to do my beloved stuff! :'(

Thanks for poppin' by my blog to read! :)

High Humidity in Singapore Leaves Furnitures at Home Moldy :(

Living in a place in Singapore, is different from the USA.
Products from IKEA seems to be more suitable in the States than in SG.
The humidity level in SG is approximately 30%  higher than States. That is why, whenever I purchase an IKEA product, I'd be so afraid that it might turn moldy, and in fact, there were cases when these happened before. ):

I actually intended to revamp my room, so that I could be able to fit in my pole, and also have space to do spins. But when I contacted a few contractors, they quoted me an amount that was hitting 5 digits. On one hand, it was due to me requesting for good quality wood that wouldn't mold, or at least, was more durable. On the other hand, I requested for a platform filled with storage compartments. That was why it almost hit 5 digits. Well, one kind soul encouraged me to get a dehumidifier to see if it solves the issue in my home. Till now, I haven't bought one yet cause I don't know which was better.
There's like loads of brand in the market nowadays! See till eye-crossed. I hate going to electrical stores like Best Denki, Courts, etc cause their promoters are either to one brand, else their own sales personnel ain't really adequate in all the products that the store carries. I've actually seen Novita and EuropAce. the cost hits almost $500. So.. I'm not getting it yet. Shall just stick to the disposable ones I have at home that works just like the Thirsty Hippo. Just that mine are from Daiso, which only cost $2 for an 800ml container. :)
The hassle of buying such disposables are having the need to keep replacing them, especially having to find where I actually placed them. >.<
I have like  an estimated amount of approximately more than 10 in my own room! And I gotta change them almost every 2 to 3 months.

I would really love to own one dehumidifier myself, the digital ones. hahaha. :P

Study Places in SG

Exams are around the corner! Where have you all been preparing for that piece of paper to test your whole semester/year of knowledge?

This has always been a troubling issue for me since I was a kid. And I hope that this may help some of the youngsters out there who are currently in the same situation as I was in the past.

Well, I'm not a rich kid. Hence, these places are recommended highly for students like me - poor, only more productive after 4pm and can't study in very cold places. (Counting Cafes like Starbucks out as it is a lil' on the higher cost for poor students).

Libraries
Credits: NLB

I used to study in the libraries in the past. However, as time passes, libraries have also changed their rules and regulations.
Libraries highly recommended (Woodlands Regional Library, National Library). Else, any library in your neighbourhood.
Pros:
- Quiet
- Conducive
- Have tables and chairs
- Free (unless you go to their cafe to sit and drink/eat)
Cons:
- Got to travel to there just to study (waste time and transportation cost)
- May be cold at times
- May not be able to get a space to study especially during mugging periods. So you better make sure you are there waiting before the library opens.
- Closes at 9pm. So students like me whom like to study till late night got to move to elsewhere and continue.
- Cannot discuss problems too loudly with your friend if you're studying with any.
- Sometimes too quiet ain't good too (might fall asleep)
- No food and drink

McDonald's
Highly recommended McD: Sengkang Sports Complex369 Sembawang RoadPasir Ris Sports & Recreation Centrebeside Bras Basah ComplexTampines (opp KFC, near bus interchange)
Pros:
- If you are thick-skinned enough, you can don't spend a penny there.
- Good if it is 24 hours.
- May discuss/talk as and when you want.
- Able to eat/drink and study at the same time without having to change location unless eating food other than McD.
Cons:
- May get chased out during peak periods (usually won't for the highly recommended places, except beside Bras Basah Complex)
- Some McDonald's may be cold
- People might stare at you for occupying the seats when there are no other seats
- May get too noisy especially with other students chit-chatting away loudly.

Sengkang Community Club
Pros:
- Quite a number of table and bench for you to occupy to study
- Free to public
- May study till late night (I've only tried till before midnight)
- Free Wifi
Cons:
- May get noisy at times (I use earpiece)
- May be hot during the afternoon, but they've also got fans installed.

Your previous school (Any polytechnics/ITEs?)
Pros
- Lots of tables and benches for you as the students there need to do project group/studying, etc
- Cheap food!
- Free Wifi!
- Power switches/sockets around (can charge your mobile, use laptop)
- Many washrooms, so don't have to worry having to use dirty washrooms (;

Cons
- Got to travel to there (unless your house is near your polytechnic?)
- Closure time of schools may differ
- May not have food after a certain timing

Thanks for poppin' by the Chipmunk Wanders and feel free to share with me better places! :)
