Living in a place in Singapore, is different from the USA.
Products from IKEA seems to be more suitable in the States than in SG.
The humidity level in SG is approximately 30% higher than States. That is why, whenever I purchase an IKEA product, I'd be so afraid that it might turn moldy, and in fact, there were cases when these happened before. ):
I actually intended to revamp my room, so that I could be able to fit in my pole, and also have space to do spins. But when I contacted a few contractors, they quoted me an amount that was hitting 5 digits. On one hand, it was due to me requesting for good quality wood that wouldn't mold, or at least, was more durable. On the other hand, I requested for a platform filled with storage compartments. That was why it almost hit 5 digits. Well, one kind soul encouraged me to get a dehumidifier to see if it solves the issue in my home. Till now, I haven't bought one yet cause I don't know which was better.
There's like loads of brand in the market nowadays! See till eye-crossed. I hate going to electrical stores like Best Denki, Courts, etc cause their promoters are either to one brand, else their own sales personnel ain't really adequate in all the products that the store carries. I've actually seen Novita and EuropAce. the cost hits almost $500. So.. I'm not getting it yet. Shall just stick to the disposable ones I have at home that works just like the Thirsty Hippo. Just that mine are from Daiso, which only cost $2 for an 800ml container. :)
The hassle of buying such disposables are having the need to keep replacing them, especially having to find where I actually placed them. >.<
I have like an estimated amount of approximately more than 10 in my own room! And I gotta change them almost every 2 to 3 months.
I would really love to own one dehumidifier myself, the digital ones. hahaha. :P
